When In Situ Site Investigation needed specialist equipment to progress its business it went back to a source of information and help it had used before.
Locate East Sussex was able to tell them about the South East Business Boost provided by Business East Sussex, the Local Growth Hub.
Now the St Leonards-based firm, which is a specialist in geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation, has a brand new Morooka rig which has been added to its fleet of specialist investigation equipment.
“We’re a very specialist company that does work not only in the UK but also throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Worldwide. We specialise in the use of Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) techniques and other related pushing technologies,” explains Phil Harper, In Situ’s Finance Director.
“In order to provide our clients with the most accurate and reliable data, we use high quality and innovative equipment. We’re a unique company that is looking forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary next year.”
Thanks to Business East Sussex, In Situ was successful in its application for a grant from the South East Business Boost and has been able to purchase a new Morooka CPT rig.
“The rig is already working out on various sites, after we modified it for our needs. Working with Business East Sussex to obtain the £8k we needed for it was easy enough. Some forms, but lots of guidance on them. I’d definitely recommend for other businesses to use the service.”

Tapping into European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) Business East Sussex can provide grants of between £1,000 and £10,000. It could be used for anything – from new equipment and machinery to new technology and processes.
