The Great Out-Tours supported through pandemic

At the start of the pandemic, John Brooksbank was unsure what government funded support was available to him for his business.

After receiving funding from the SEBCOR grant for a piece of IT to help improve his business, John has updated us with some fantastic news.

Faced with the pandemic, John Brooksbank wanted to improve his business, The Great Out-tours; seeking advice on how to improve the IT software that he already had. The business, which was founded in 2011, connects the countryside with primary age children and people with special needs, learning disabilities, dementia and mental health conditions.

The business received funding as part of the SEBCOR grant; the Government’s initiative to help SMEs recover from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, which has now closed. During the first national lockdown in March 2020, The Great Out-tours produced a vibrant online activity programme for those with special needs, profound physical disabilities and mental health conditions across the UK. Despite the initial worries that the pandemic presented, The Great Out-tours pivoted their business and are being rewarded with a shortlist nomination for ‘Best Rural Professional Services Business – 2020/21’.

We want to congratulate The Great Out-tours for this incredible achievement; their hard work and enthusiasm for their business has shown no bounds and we are thrilled to see their success.
