Fully funded virtual workshop to help Essex businesses to get prepared for Brexit delivered by Back to Business Essex and Essex County Council.

The UK’s withdrawal from the European Union continues to provoke fierce debate. Whatever shape Brexit takes, it’s likely to have an direct effect on your small business. These workshops will help you to prepare your business for Brexit so you can be ready for what is to come.

Please note, these workshops are for businesses in Essex only, excluding Southend and Thurrock.

The workshops will be delivered by Mike Russell of MKR Solutions and will be in four parts:

• Impact on Export

• Impact on Import

• Trade Agreements

• Disruptive Strategy

What’s it all about?

With the end of the Brexit transition period rapidly approaching on 31st December 2020 businesses should already be well advanced with their plans and procedures if they will be doing business with European countries from 1st January 2021.

However, the Government has stated that some 76% of businesses are not fully prepared for the new checks on trade that will be introduced from 1st January.

To help Essex based SMEs address the changes brought about as a result of the UK leaving the EU on 31st December Let’s Do Business are running practical workshops to assist companies in preparing for the changes required from 1st January under the Back to Business Essex programme which is fully funded by Essex County Council.

This Brexit workshop and has been produced to incorporate the latest position and information available, enabling Essex SMEs to understand and adopt any changes required to trade with the EU.

Mike Russell, MKR Solutions

Since October 2019 Mike has been working with businesses in East Anglia, supporting them through the potential implications of Brexit.

Primarily the impacts on Export and Import and what businesses will face come January 2021 should we leave with No Deal or a Free Trade Agreement.

Whilst from a financial services background, Brexit has been pretty much all Mike has talked about all year and he has developed this workshop to provide SME’s currently, or thinking of, trading in Europe with an understanding of the processes and the changes that are being implemented.

It intends to start a debate and action within the businesses and to at least get some readiness for what is to come.
