A unique one-hour session to discover how university expertise can boost your business and secure funding to supercharge your innovation.
About this event
The UK government continues to make available significant funding for businesses to collaborate with UK universities on projects which aim to help them innovate or improve their business productivity. What this means is that UK-based companies of any size are able to access significant funding to help them better utilise emerging technologies, develop new product/services and onboard a suitable graduate to work on innovative projects. There is also a brand new drive to help companies enhance their management skills and capabilities, develop innovation strategies and improve productivity, by working with business schools. This type of innovation funding can enable you to collaborate with leading academics, and recruit technical specialists to deliver the project thus reducing the risks associated with highly innovative R&D.
Basildon Council, working in partnership with the University of Essex, is offering a unique one-hour briefing session focused on providing an understanding of the current UK funding landscape to accelerate & de-risk innovation through collaboration.
The session will;
- Give a detailed view of Innovate UK and UK Research and Innovation – the funding body aiming to spend £22bn on business innovation support by 2026-27
- Provide information about how the University of Essex can support you to access the necessary research expertise to boost your business and demonstrate how to win funding to support your project
In addition, as a follow up to the one-hour briefing session, we are offering 20 minute personalised ‘Rapid Scoping Session’ for any business leaders who want to explore any specific challenge areas, project ideas or eligibility for their business. These sessions are an opportunity for attendees to speak to University of Essex Research and Enterprise experts who can very quickly assess whether you have a viable project idea, scope out the project’s needs, identify whether the University has the required expertise and source what funding might be available. Sessions will be available all day following the event.
This virtual webinar will last 1 hour with the main session being 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute Q&A. The Rapid Scoping Sessions will start from 11am and run throughout the day following the main briefing session. Multiple concurrent sessions are available to be booked and more thorough scoping sessions are also available.
