12.30pm: How to grow an international fashion brand

Shani Oslerne is Head of International Expansion at Astrid & Miyu – the contemporary, London-based jewellery brand that is sold in Selfridges, John Lewis, and ASOS. Shani is responsible for Astrid & Miyu’s global expansion strategy, with a focus on growing market share in key markets for the business. In the first session at The Fashion Exchange, Shani will share tips for successfully growing an international fashion brand.

1.00pm: The importance of customer profiling

Nathalie Wimmer has worked as a luxury e-commerce buyer at retailers such as Mytheresa and Matchesfashion, where she accumulated a wealth of experience and expertise in the development and restructuring of merchandising plans. Nathalie is now focused on brand building and value creation – acting as a strategic consultant for start-ups and established brands. Nathalie will be sharing the importance of customer profiling and how to think with different customers in mind when launching new products.

1.30pm: How to pitch to retail buyers

Wizz Selvey is the founder of WIZZ&CO, where she champions brands and retailers to stand out from the noise to attract customers. Wizz was formerly Head of Beauty at Selfridges and Director at Cowshed Beauty and Soho Home. Wizz has been pitched to thousands of times, so she knows what works. Wizz will explain how you can successfully pitch your products to retail buyers.

2.00pm: How to grow your fashion brand on social media

Emma Murray has spent over 10 years’ in the fashion industry and works as a social media trainer through her company ELM Social Media Marketing. In this session, Emma will cover how you can grow your fashion brand on social media, including how to increase your engagement, working with influencers, content ideas and more.

2.30pm: Business essentials

Hear from a panel of experts and entrepreneurs on essentials you should get in place, in order to ease your business growth journey.

3.00pm: Growing a sustainable fashion brand

In this panel, hear how you can start and grow a sustainable fashion brand. Plus, hear from ethical and sustainable marketplace Gather&See on how you can get stocked.

3.30pm: ‘How I built my brand’ with Tahlia Gray, founder, Sheer Chemistry

Founded by Tahlia Gray, Sheer Chemistry is an empowering hosiery brand, driven by a mission to create a more diverse perception of beauty. Tahlia will share her story of growing the brand – from finding suppliers, to growing a customer base, getting stocked by John Lewis and more!

4.00pm: How to grow your wholesale business with Faire – The online wholesale marketplace for retailers and brands

Faire was founded in 2017 with a mission to help independent entrepreneurs chase their dreams. The online wholesale marketplace empowers small business owners and independent brands to buy and sell wholesale online. Hear how you can grow your business by selling to retailers on Faire.

4.30pm: Meet the buyer: Hayley Willmington, buyer, John Lewis

Do you want your products stocked by John Lewis? Hayley Willmington, buyer at John Lewis, will share how you can get in touch with the buyers, what impresses them in a pitch and what they are looking for at the moment. Four attendees will have the opportunity to pitch to Hayley live ‘on stage’.

4.45pm: Live pitching to John Lewis  

Head off the main stage and into the live pitching session to watch the four chosen fashion brands take part in a quick-fire, 2-minute pitch to have their products stocked by John Lewis. Hayley will provide feedback to the brands and ask questions to give you an insight into how pitches to buyers work.
