Events planner scoops prestigious Business Award following support from Business East Sussex

New Style Events was founded by Jo Brazier in 2011 to provide planning services for corporate, private & charity events in the Sussex area.  In 2013 the hugely successful and award winning Y Front Run was launched to educate the local men about early warning signs of male cancer, this is now an annual event in Hastings.

Jo says; “I wanted to grow both New Style Events and the Y Front Run, but I needed help to work out what worked and what didn’t and to then expand this thinking into business ideas.  I seemed stuck on new ideas for New Style Events and wanted to hit the market with different types of events which not only promoted local businesses but also made a name for ourselves.”

Jo continued: “I am so happy that Kerry Byott was assigned my business coach/mentor as she has been invaluable and made me really think of where I want my business to be in the next few years. Running a business on your own can feel very isolating and the goals Kerry had set me between each meeting helped to focus my mind and make me even more motivated and enthusiastic about the events.”

Jo recently received the South East Small Business Awards, Community Award for organising the annual Y-Front run in support of male cancer charity and had progress to the FSB’s Celebrating Small Business Awards national final on 3 May in London.
