Businesses in Essex are benefiting from improved connectivity, thanks to the rollout of full fibre broadband. To date, nearly 20,000 businesses and homes have been connected to full fibre by the council’s broadband improvement programme, Superfast Essex.
Full fibre is a copper-free connection offering speeds of up to 1,000Mbps (1Gbps), which can make a big difference in terms of speed and reliability.
One company seeing the benefits is Excel Helicopters – a helicopter charter, maintenance and restoration business. Thanks to full fibre, they can use flight planning software seamlessly and get aircraft off the ground more efficiently.
CEO of Superfast Essex, Simon Rowland, commented: “Full fibre has changed the face of our business and it’s going to help set us up for the future.”
