First Essex Climate Action Report Launched

Published on in News

The first Essex Climate Action Annual Report has been launched to update the county on its progress to become a net zero county by 2050. The report comes a year after the Council announced its Climate Action Plan.

The £200 million Essex Climate Action plan reflected the priorities set out by the Essex Climate Action Commission’s 2021 report, ‘Net Zero: Making Essex Carbon Neutral’. The annual report focuses on how Essex County Council has actively worked to reduce carbon emissions in the county.

On 17 October 2022 global organisation, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) awarded Essex an A-rating for its climate action work.
